The Retreat Remodel No. 2 | Ryobi Giveaway

We’re into the second week of working on The Retreat Remodel. I’ve got the aches and pains to prove it. We’ve torn down walls, ripped up floors, replaced insulation and sheetrock, not to mention what seem like a kazillion other little fixes here and there that seem to pop up at every turn. But we’re having fun! It’s good that Randy and I both enjoy DIY project, and more importantly, working on them together.
As with most undertakings it seems that it takes a bit of time to find a groove and get into a routine, and one of the most important aspects of getting in that groove is having the right tools for the job. Having the correct tool can make a world of difference.
One of the tools that we’ve had from day one is a cordless drill. I find it essential to any toolbox. Fitted with an array of drill bits, it’s a functional and useful for a variety of jobs. In this short time I’ve already used it to remove old kitchen cabinets, as well as build and install the new ones, install sheetrock, drill large holes for plumbing using a large drill bit, repair a loose door hinge, and quickly remove electrical plates. It’s become a priceless tool to have so far.
So to kick The Retreat Remodel series off with a bang, I thought I’d share a pretty green cordless drill with one lucky winner!
This is a good-un: a Ryobi 18-Volt ONE+ Lithium-ion Drill Kit. Plus, I like the bright green color because I can find it among the mess of the remodel.

I’d like to have my own so I don’t have to hunt em down amidst my husband’s projects…
I too would love to have my own drill to keep at “The Retreat” we bought in the Georgia
mountains this year. I have been wanting to try some pallet projects and make a porch swing !! Have you shared with us where your “Retreat” is…I see mountains off that deck!
Ok, I did some looking back at your post of 9/27/13 where You noted that your Retreat is in the mountains of western North Carolina. We are practically neighbors ! Our Retreat is in Young Harris, Ga. near Hiawassee, less than a mile from the N.C. state line and about an hour from Franklin, NC. I hope you are enjoying your new adventure as much as we are!

I’d give it to my father in law for Christmas, since he has wore his out on building our house and he could use this to help build onto our house in the near future.

We also have a retreat fixer-upper. So a cordless drill would come in handy for so many needed projects.
I would use the drill to build beds & other fun things for my garden. Also to finish my wood pallet bike rack!
If I had this drill, I would make my husband so jealous. He has his own, of course, but I’m not allowed to use it. I’m not even allowed a hammer. I don’t understand…just because I love drilling screws and hanging pictures…sometimes making several attempts before crumbling the drywall! He says I’m too dangerous, but I just think I’m not afraid to be creative! I would love to have my very own drill…and a bright pretty one at that!
