Fresh honey is such a treat to have on hand to add to tea, yogurt, and delicious recipes like this Honey Mustard Salad Dressing.
I remember a couple of years ago as we harvested our first batch of honey, or shall I say Randy harvested it while I watched and planned on how to use the harvest. That first year of beekeeping was productive. It was like striking precious gold right in our backyard! Since that first year, the honey yield hasn’t been quite as good. I’ve kept one bottle from that first year hidden away likes it’s a treasure. Pure honey really is a treasure. Nothing else quite compares to what flavor honey adds to a recipe.
Honey is the perfect ingredient to keep stocked for creating sauces, dressings, and marinades as it pairs so well with many other ingredients, and flavor profiles. This very basic Honey Mustard Salad Dressing is my new go-to for a quick zesty salad companion. It’s light (about 40 calories/tablespoon), and since it’s made with only three simple ingredients, it sure is easy to whip up.
Toss this dressing with your favorite salad green and top with grilled chicken for a healthy and satisfying meal.
The dressing is on the spicy, zesty side, so not much is needed to add flavor. Adjust to your personal taste as needed. A little goes a long way so there’s no need to drown your salad with this one. Enjoy!

I love this! Love how simple it is…and light, too! I’m making it THIS week…goodness knows that after all of the cookies and chocolate I’ve consumed over the past few weeks, I NEED a salad!!!
Made this tonight….it’s perfect and so easy! Thanks, Amy! 🙂
So delicious…..want this for lunch now, or in a couple hours ; ) I love that you have your own bees. Bees have always fascinated me. Looked into my son and I doing it, but don’t think we really have the time to put into it, and he will be off to college in 2 years so maybe someday…who knows. have a great day Amy!
That look amazing… like you totally have me wanting bees and I dont even want bees. (wow, that made sense) I would feel good about feeding this dressing to my kids too since its got all that wonderful natural honey power and goodness!! I will stop gushnig now. 😉
I too love how simple this recipe is!! So glad to hear the bees are alive and well! I remember when you first started with them! 🙂
I am terrible at making salad dressings, I don’t know why. I have to give this a try. A honey mustard salad with chicken is what I must have!
I love honey mustard – it’s basically my go-to dressing that I KNOW my hubby and I will both love!
I love honey mustard dressing on salad. My all-time favorite! Thanks Amy!
We love making our own salad dressing. Love this recipe!
My grandpa used to keep bees! He used to give us honey every year & though I thought it was neat, I sure didn’t appreciate it like I would now. 😉 I make homemade salad dressings all the time & this one sounds like a great one.
Honey mustard is a favorite around our house!
I love to make this dressing! So easy!
Amy, I love that you have bees. LOVE! I would like to start doing the same, but our HOA will freak out!!! Adding this dressing to my list of salad mixings … always at a loss when it comes to salad!
Pero que ensalada tan rica y que fotos tan maravillosas, me encantan!!
besos
This sounds perfect, and so simple to make!
Such a great recipe, Amy! I can’t wait to make this for my sister. She’s a honey-mustard lover for sure!
Oh that sounds just lovely! can’t wait to try it!
Homemade salad dressing is the best and we certainly love honey mustard.
Yay for simple salads — especially this time of the year after all of the high-cal holiday foods!
I love spicy dressing like this!
I want to be you. Your honey is so gorgeous always.
