An itty bitty nest.

Because my eyes may not be able to take it much longer, and because I love ya like a sistah, or a brother, or an aunt, or just a real swell friend, here’s another itty bitty nest drawing giveaway.
As I’ve mentioned before, my eyes are fading fast, so I haven’t picked up a drawing pen in quite a while. I hate to even admit it, but the last winner, Kim, who happens to be a local friend, has yet to see her nest yet. I’ve never been so slack, except for that time in the third grade when I totally forgot about doing a book report, and got in big time trouble. And maybe a few other times here and there.
But I’m getting to it tomorrow. I promise Kim. I am. It’s on my to do list… as soon as I find my reading glasses.
They’re teeny y’all, so give me a break. The actual nest size is about 3″ wide. Each drawing is different from the next, no copies involved, original size – no reducing. So, while it’s not a priceless work of art, it’s real. It’s drawn with love, from my heart to yours, and every ounce of nearsightedness I can muster. And it will likely be the last one I ever do. But I will do it. That’s a guarantee.
Anyway, one (1) winner will be randomly chosen to win a framed nest drawing, customized with the number of eggs desired. The eggs represent your little chicks, your sister’s little chicks, your mama’s little chicks, a friend’s little chicks, or that lady that helped you pick out the perfect size of Spanx little chicks – whatever chick you choose chicks.
Of course that is within reason. The largest amount of eggs I’ve ever drawn in a nest is seven. I guess there’s always the possibility of a nest condo.
All you have to do to enter is answer a question. Simple. Here ’tis… Even though they’re flying south for the winter, what is your favorite bird? Is it a blue bird? A flamingo? A chicken? Or are you freaky scared of birds?

Red hawks – even with a dead squirrel hanging limply from its grip as it slowly flaps to the top of the tree down our suburban street. Or maybe BECAUSE of the flower eating dead squirrel pest hanging from its claws. Or maybe because I am a raptor kind of woman!
Cardinal. Love the color against the paler green of desert trees.
We have a set of barred owls that live in our woods. They make amazing sounds especially when they are hunting!
I have always admired Cardinals! Your nests are adorable and my fingers are crossed!!!
Love, love cardinals, mostly because I have awesome memories of how happy they make my mom. We’d peek out our windows together, and she’d point and say, “Look, Jenny, there’s a redbird!” I think of her every time I see one 🙂
My favorite bird to watch is the Robin. I have wonderful memories from growing up in NY watching the Robins hunt for worms in our yard. My Dad would always say they were stealing his good fishin worms! Now when I see a Robin looking for worms in our yard, I smile with memories of my childhood and my sweet Father.
I like hummingbirds. I understand that they are mean, territorial and combative. And I find that amusing, because I once saw one caught in a spider web in my butterfly bush. It got away–amazing to watch.
Mine would have to be ducks 🙂 There are some that love just outside my grandparents’ home in Florida, and I have to say that they are the most harmless, precious birds ever! Of course I also love hummingbirds, but ducks are just so adorable.
Where I live (Las Vegas)not too many birds fly South, they all stay here! So I guess my favorite is the Grackle. They are here all year long and I like them because they have a very tropical sound and they walk like Charlie Chaplin they are so much fun to watch.
I love to watch cedar waxwings as they travel through the country.
