An itty bitty nest.

Because my eyes may not be able to take it much longer, and because I love ya like a sistah, or a brother, or an aunt, or just a real swell friend, here’s another itty bitty nest drawing giveaway.
As I’ve mentioned before, my eyes are fading fast, so I haven’t picked up a drawing pen in quite a while. I hate to even admit it, but the last winner, Kim, who happens to be a local friend, has yet to see her nest yet. I’ve never been so slack, except for that time in the third grade when I totally forgot about doing a book report, and got in big time trouble. And maybe a few other times here and there.
But I’m getting to it tomorrow. I promise Kim. I am. It’s on my to do list… as soon as I find my reading glasses.
They’re teeny y’all, so give me a break. The actual nest size is about 3″ wide. Each drawing is different from the next, no copies involved, original size – no reducing. So, while it’s not a priceless work of art, it’s real. It’s drawn with love, from my heart to yours, and every ounce of nearsightedness I can muster. And it will likely be the last one I ever do. But I will do it. That’s a guarantee.
Anyway, one (1) winner will be randomly chosen to win a framed nest drawing, customized with the number of eggs desired. The eggs represent your little chicks, your sister’s little chicks, your mama’s little chicks, a friend’s little chicks, or that lady that helped you pick out the perfect size of Spanx little chicks – whatever chick you choose chicks.
Of course that is within reason. The largest amount of eggs I’ve ever drawn in a nest is seven. I guess there’s always the possibility of a nest condo.
All you have to do to enter is answer a question. Simple. Here ’tis… Even though they’re flying south for the winter, what is your favorite bird? Is it a blue bird? A flamingo? A chicken? Or are you freaky scared of birds?
Just leave a comment (1 entry per person please) between today, Wednesday, October 20, 2010 and Monday, October 25, 2010 at Midnight PST. The winner will be announced sometime on Tuesday, October 26, 2010, so be sure to check back.
Happy fall y’all!
Beautiful drawings! My daughter & her husband are birders. Ther rehab injured birds of all kinds. I got to take care of the kestrel they were rehabing this summer while they were on vacation. I loved it, she was so beautiful and smart. They would love one of your drawings!
I love pelicans, kind of ‘sturdy’ like me 😉
Cardinals!!!
Definitely hummingbirds. We put out our feeders each spring and await the arrival of our tiny friends. Very cool drawing, Amy! You are one talented chicky.
Ohhh a peacock!! So pretty!
Bright red cardinals (especially in the snow).
Couldn’t you just see three little blush colored eggs in that nest…
I love the Spanish doves and their eerie morning songs!
Love this question, my favorite bird is a chicken (or 12). They don’t call me the chicken lady for nothing! Very cute pic!
Wow, I would be honored to have the very last! I think my favorite birds are ducks. They taste good, they can be pretty from time to time, and they make a charming sound when they want to. And they remind me of the childhood story books by Beatrix Potter. xo
I’ve lived outside the US for decades and am an avid birdwatcher. Hoopoes? Sunbirds? Flycatchers? Hornbills? It’s a tough choice, but I think I love drab mockingbirds most of all. The way they run through their exhausting repertoire of bird imitations every morning and evening, always makes me smile and feel happy for their gift.
I LOVE TO WATCH HUMMINGBIRDS 😉
My favorite bird is the male Cardinal. The muse for the coloring in my wings. I hope you have a lovely weekend!
My favorite bird is a love bird. They are so little and cute!
My favorite bird is a robin as I have many memories of my gma. She was an avid bird watcher and the first bird she tuaght me to identify was a male roobin
I love the indigo bunting for its vibrant blue coloration. I love birds and birds nest! Your drawings are adorable!
This is so sweet – let’s see, my favorite bird might be a penguin. Does that qualify? How about a pelican??!!
I actually have two favorites. Robins and Cardinals 🙂 I love your Itty Bitty Nests!
I don’t quite know much about birds but whenever I see a blue jay I am positively overjoyed.
I have to go with hummingbirds–I have good memories of watching them at my grandparents’ house down in Missouri, although they’ve both been gone over 20 years now.
