An itty bitty nest.

Because my eyes may not be able to take it much longer, and because I love ya like a sistah, or a brother, or an aunt, or just a real swell friend, here’s another itty bitty nest drawing giveaway.
As I’ve mentioned before, my eyes are fading fast, so I haven’t picked up a drawing pen in quite a while. I hate to even admit it, but the last winner, Kim, who happens to be a local friend, has yet to see her nest yet. I’ve never been so slack, except for that time in the third grade when I totally forgot about doing a book report, and got in big time trouble. And maybe a few other times here and there.
But I’m getting to it tomorrow. I promise Kim. I am. It’s on my to do list… as soon as I find my reading glasses.
They’re teeny y’all, so give me a break. The actual nest size is about 3″ wide. Each drawing is different from the next, no copies involved, original size – no reducing. So, while it’s not a priceless work of art, it’s real. It’s drawn with love, from my heart to yours, and every ounce of nearsightedness I can muster. And it will likely be the last one I ever do. But I will do it. That’s a guarantee.
Anyway, one (1) winner will be randomly chosen to win a framed nest drawing, customized with the number of eggs desired. The eggs represent your little chicks, your sister’s little chicks, your mama’s little chicks, a friend’s little chicks, or that lady that helped you pick out the perfect size of Spanx little chicks – whatever chick you choose chicks.
Of course that is within reason. The largest amount of eggs I’ve ever drawn in a nest is seven. I guess there’s always the possibility of a nest condo.
All you have to do to enter is answer a question. Simple. Here ’tis… Even though they’re flying south for the winter, what is your favorite bird? Is it a blue bird? A flamingo? A chicken? Or are you freaky scared of birds?
Just leave a comment (1 entry per person please) between today, Wednesday, October 20, 2010 and Monday, October 25, 2010 at Midnight PST. The winner will be announced sometime on Tuesday, October 26, 2010, so be sure to check back.
Happy fall y’all!
I honestly haven’t ever thought about what my favorite bird is! hmmm….how about hummingbirds, because they make my kids so happy 🙂
Cedar waxwings. Beautiful, fascinating, here one day, gone the next.
We have enjoyed hummingbirds battle each other at our feeder this summer. They are tough, territorial, little creatures. I also love goldfinches!
Awww, you KNOW I want one of those derned ol’ nest drawings! But if this is your last one, I reckon my chances are mighty slim (seein’ as how you’ve gotten so popular and all…) 😉
Well, I’m throwin’ my entry in with the rest of ’em anyhow, can’t win if I don’t, right?
I do not have a favorite. I love any bird that sings, I’m not picky. In fact, the only bird I can think of that I don’t like is a crow. They’re kinda creepy.
Owls. Love, love, love them!
OK, it’s my turn to win a nest drawing. AND if it’s your last, I have to win now or forever and ever hold my peace. So…consider this my entry and pick it to win!!!!! AND oh yeah, my favorite bird is of course, the hummer. Have thoroughly enjoyed them this summer.
The robin. It is sure sign of spring around these parts after a long winter.
And I have a friend who is freaky scared of birds. It is the craziest thing I have ever seen.
Oh I want one of your nest drawings and it’d be super simple to do mine since I have one adorable, precious as punch, little darling boy. Now don’t you want me to win!?!?!
Okay, so my favorite bird… a robin bird of course. Even though their names aren’t spelled right. Or so I said when I was just a wee girl.
Tough to choose just one! Cedar Waxwings are one of the most graphically pleasing birds, & we get to see them every year as they pick the top of our mulberry tree clean!’Course, then they turn the neighbor’s driveway purple, which is *not* so graphically pretty…
I love how WHITE egrets are.
Love the jewel tones in hummingbirds.
But since I just finished a TERRIFIC book called “Wesley the Owl” I’m currently kinda partial to barn owls. Lovely, inscrutable faces with obsidian eyes!
I have to say Big Bird. He is so wise in his simplicity. And he is a great actor. “Follow That Bird” is one of my favorite movies.
Favorite bird: cardinal.
“He rocks in the tree tops all day long, hoppin’ and a-boppin’ and singing his song…Rockin’ ROBIN” I love the color of their eggs!
I totally want a nest. In my nest would be an American goldfinch. They used to live in the river birch in my front yard growing up. Their song sounds like home. Not in my nest? The persistent woodpeckers that peck at my cedar shakes.
Hawk. From time to time a pair of them visit our back yard. They’re beautiful majestic birds. Maybe a bit too big for your pretty little nests, though.
I love the nest drawing! I entered to win the last one but didn’t:(
My favorite bird would be a crane…is that weird?
They are so slow, graceful and patient…my idol!!
Amy, if I don’t win this, then I’m driving myself to your house with pen and paper and will sit in your kitchen until you draw one for me!!! I love blue jays but wait . . . I love cardinals . . . but I also love Robins . . . and then there’s the hummingbird . . . or the oriole . . . or the hawk . . . or owl . . . or nuthatch . . . junko . . . woodpecker . . .
You are *killing* me…the very last itty bitty nest e-v-e-r? I will forever remember my first visit to your site when you had the itty bitty nest contest & while I didn’t win the nest, I still feel like a winner because I now have you as a dear friend.
My favorite bird- The sweet Carolina Wren of course. One built a nest in my beach bag that was hanging in my garage this past Spring. It was the most magical thing. The nest, the eggs, the baby birdies…
Bot do I need an itty bitty nest now that my sweet Carolina Wren is gone.
Hummingbirds because they live on sugar! High Octane!
Your drawing actually made me say “Awwww!” out loud. Lovely! I’m a bird nerd, and my favorites are the little cute ones…finches especially, but also blue birds and titmice. (Mandatory tee-hee!)
Thanks so much for the opportunity!
Roosters for sure. Love the colors and fluidity of their feathers!
