So many gorgeous fig recipes have caught my eye. Here’s a roundup of some of those.
Figs are so enticing. Their color and subtle flavor meld so well with so many ingredients, both sweet and savory. Served simply with a drizzle of honey, or an elaborate tart, figs please both the eye and the palate.
Not only are figs a feast for the eyes, and tastebuds, but nutritionally beneficial too. In addition to a good source of fiber and potassium, a quick online search will show you many other health benefits of the fig. ‘Oh bring me some figgy…’
For years I’ve been wanting to plant a fig tree, but have been noncommittal to the abundant crop that may follow. Of course, after seeing so many tempting fig recipes, once again I find myself contemplating the addition of a fig tree this fall.

Oh how I’d love to have a fig tree in my backyard!
A sweet friend gave me a bag of figs this week. That’s a true friend! I’ve eaten nearly all of them, though. I’ll have to see if she’ll share some more before I can try a recipe or two. As much as I love them, I should have planted a tree a long time ago.
