Three Favorite Things

As far as shopping goes, I’m pretty set in my ways. I like what I like, and tend to go back for more of the same. So when I find things that work for me, I wanna go get more and stock up. Buy 50 kazillion of the same thing so I will never have to do without.
Perfectly rational.
I think so.
Okay, I don’t really do that. I mean, I’ve thought about it. And I suppose I’ve kinda done that if you count the times I’ve found the perfect t-shirt and decided I needed one in every color. And I do have this thing with bowls. I can’t seem to have enough bowls. It’s really weird.
Anyway, I think the thought to hoard does cross my mind when I discover a fantastic product, like the three that I’m getting ready to share with you. I’m seriously considering purchasing backups, because all my other favorites seem to fade away when a replacement is needed.
The first favorite thing I’d like to share are these flip flops from Rainbow. I’ve tried on tons of flip flops looking for that comfy shoe. With wide feet it’s not the easiest thing to find. I dropped into Shoe Carnival a couple of weeks back on the hunt for some black flip flops. Soon after walking through the door they announced that the Rainbows were marked down. I checked out the rack and discovered these. A slight wedge, wide enough for me and comfy!
I honestly may go back and grab another pair for next year.
And maybe another pair for the following year…
Moving right along…
These pants from J.Jill are the best. They inspired song. They did.
I hate to use the word comfy again, but they are. They’re easily dressed up or down. Take a casual approach with the Rainbow flip flops above and a nice t-shirt. Or spiff it up with some girly girl sandals with a nice top. I like the flowy wide leg capris, but they come in straight leg too. They’re like yoga pants I’m allowed to wear out in public. Check em out. J.Jill is good about running sales and coupons, so be on the lookout for those too.
The last item on my “Favorites” list right now is this SoftBottle water bottle from Platypus. I received one while at the Rockher Party at the Blogher Food Conference back in May. And as soon as I got home my 12 year old son claimed it as his own. It’s light and stores flat when not in use.
I’m thinking about purchasing a few more to take on our vacation. We usually get jugs of water and refill water bottles while we travel, but these would be handy to have and could pack flat too. Plus they are BPA free. Check out their variety of colors.
Like always, thanks for stopping by. It’s fun to share what I feel are good purchases, worth the money.
Do you have any good finds? Please don’t hesitate to share.
I was not compensated in any way for this post. Other than the free water bottle, I personally purchased items.
My favorite sandals are a brand called Cobian…they’re by far the best flip flops I’ve found!
I love the clothes from J Jill, they are the best!
I’m loving your favorite things, Amy!! I’m gonna look up those water bottles!! 🙂
I have literally been trying to figure out where I’m going to get another pair of flip-flops. Mine are worn so thin I may as well be walking the streets barefoot! I love these recs, thanks girl!
That water bottle is *rockin* (pun intended) I do the same thing. I find something I like and I buy 12. Makes perfect sense to me. Perfect sense.
There were some similar water bottles when I was in Monterey that totally caught my eye. Such a brilliant idea.
want the pants!!!
I need to find those platypus waters! I wonder where they sell them around me?!
I have never seen water bottles like that… how cool! Just so you know, I love anything described as comfy. 🙂
yes to all of the above!
You remind me so much of myself! I have 2 pair of Old Navy tan shorts that I have worn every summer since 2002! They are so worn now, that I can only wear them around the house, but I wish I would have bought 10 pair so I could still have them! I also have 3 pair of the same Nike flip flops that I love and I buy Clinique Bamboo Pink lipstick in bulk on ebay. It’s my favorite shade and I have been wearing it for years 🙂 Love that water bottle! Gotta go shopping for some Rainbow Flip Flops now 🙂
I love the LENGTH of those pants….so cute!
I tend to buy multiples of things I like too! If I find a great dress, I probably need 2 of them. or 3. or 4. That way people might not notice that I’m wearing the same thing every single day just in different colors. Then again I work with all males (I not the kind that get google eyed when you walk by, the kind that are reading code on their computer) so they’d probably never notice if I wore the same thing all week anyway! 🙂
I am so tall that when I found pants that were long enough I bought six pairs. I’m not kidding. Now I’m a bit like Jay Leno…I only wear the same black pants all the time. Well, not the same pair but you get my drift. Sort of in a rut but sure is an easy to put other stuff with rut that I don’t see stopping soon.
I do love J. Jill for tops and accessories to wear with those pants though. 🙂
Is it tough to get the inside of the bottles to dry, though?
I love it when I find something I really love – if I find a style that fits, sometimes I will buy two or three in different colors. Love your comfy shoes and pants, and the SoftBottle looks really neat – how do you clean it?
Oohhhh…I love the collapsable water bottles. One would be a great alternative to the bulky bottle I carry in my bag to work every day. Thanks for sharing!
Hey, double check those Rainbows, I’m pretty sure they have a lifetime warranty and will replace them if anything happens to them within reason- aka don’t set them on fire just to get new ones. Also, the Platypus water bottle is compatible with their hose, so you can throw it in a bag and run the hose out with a nozzle for hikes. It’s like a more versatile camelback!
I live right by the Rainbow sandal factory. If you bring them your used yucky sandals they give you either a free pair or a huge discount. I have no arch so I can not wear them but EVERYONE here in Orange County does and they go to the factory a lot. So you should do that 🙂
