The Perfect Light

A few days ago while midst the laundry, I noticed these jars in my laundry room lit so perfectly. This time of the year, the light at the setting sun is lovely. I dropped the clothes I was loading in the washer. The laundry can wait.
(It’s used to it.)
Then I grabbed my camera to snag some pictures.
Before the sun totally faded, I looked around my kitchen and made a few more pictures of a few items on my countertop.
The usual things found sitting around my kitchen.
Nothing special…except for the light.
Then it hit me…the most mundane, the plain, the simple, the everyday, can be turned into something beautiful with the perfect light. With just the right light, the ordinary can become the extraordinary.
Just like us.
It’s all about the light.
I hope you have an extraordinary day!

So, if I stuck my head into the light I could look like Gweneth Paltrow? 😉
LOVE. THIS.
Absolutely lovely, Amy! So very true!!!
I love picture number 2. The light is amazing.
Great photos Amy, inspiring.
The same thing happens to me when I see the perfect light it often becomes a photographic study. Thanks for sharing your peace & joy in the simple 🙂
Beautiful, evocative photographs. Well worth tossing over the laundry to grab the camera and capture the moment!
I love this post with all my heart, Amy! Big AMEN to everything you wrote! The light is utterly gorgeous!
There is beauty in everyday things. Nice pics 🙂
Beautiful. Love this.
What a beautifully sweet post. It made me think of this verse: “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.”
And God said: “let there be light …..” and it was good.
I love your post and your photos are beautiful.
Its true…. thanks for the lesson in the discovery of simple glories.

Spoken like a true photographer, Amy. You captured the light beautifully.
What pretty pictures – it is all about capturing light just the right time of day and position. What settings and lens did you use for these beautiful photos?
What a beautiful reminder, Amy! I particularly love your last pic of the salt shaker. In addition to being the Light of the world, we are to be the Salt of the earth. 🙂
Amen. It’s always about the light. LOve this. Love you.
Beautiful. I wonder if I’m reflecting or radiating light like I should.
So pretty – “I love how you wrote the ordinary can become the extraordinary. Just like us.” That’s the fun of life for me…aspiring to it in little was as well as watching it unfold around me. A nice thought to wake up to today Amy…Thanks!!
I get so excited when I have a day with good light to take photos! Love this!
There is always laundry but this is a thing of beauty. Wonderful pause to enjoy and relish the simple things in life. Beautiful photography!
