There’s no denying that I like frozen treats. Ice cream, sorbet, yogurt, gelato … I do not discriminate. I like it all. But lately, I’ve kept my eyes peeled for Grapefruit Sorbet Recipe. It’s popped up here and there, and every time it does I order it. It’s such a clean, and refreshing treat–perkiness on a spoon if you ask me. Last year I made a Grapefruit and Lime Sorbet which is tasty too but the simplicity of just the grapefruit is just as nice.
Sorbet is easy enough to make, and requires very little in the way of ingredients. Mix up a base in no time, chill for a while in the fridge, and churn away. Then a few hours in the freezer will help it firm up nicely. The flavors of this sorbet are so pure, intense even, you really don’t need much to satisfy.
Enjoy!

This sounds like the ultimate refreshing sorbet!
What an incredibly refreshing sorbet! It looks tasty and I can only imagine it will be on my upcoming to do list. Another great one Amy!
I want to submerge myself in that gorgeous glass of grapefruit sorbet.
It has been so hot here lately. A frozen sorbet like this one would do just the trick to cool me off! I have a strawberry mint sorbet recipe I make all the time. So yummy!
We are having a horrid heat wave today but after seeing this my day just started to look a little bit brighter 🙂 MmmMmm
Grapefruit is one of my favorites, and I’ve been loving on sorbets lately. Adding this to my list.
My homemade Grapefruit is my favorite. I always want to experiment & put a little vodka in, Frozen Greyhound.
Also, Cranberry sorbet is a delight.
this looks lovely! love it. 🙂
Looks beautiful! I’m not picky either, I like it all in the world of frozen treats but grapefruit sounds so awesome to me. I bet it’s so refreshing!
that is indeed a lovely sorbet
That is so pretty. And like Jamie said, I bet it is so refreshing. Yum.
This looked like a recipe I was ready to try, as I have all the ingredients ready to go, but it says to add the zest in steps two AND three and never says when to add the grapefruit juice. Editing help required!
The 1929 Ruby Red patent was associated with real commercial success, which came after the discovery of a red grapefruit growing on a pink variety. Only with the introduction of the Ruby Red did the grapefruit transform into a real agricultural success.;
Kind thoughts

Made it, loved it, posted it (www.fransfavs.com/2014/09/grapefruit-sorbet/#more-7822)! There aren’t enough adjectives to describe how delicious and refreshing this sorbet is. Thanks so much for the inspiration!
The recipe as written is impossible to follow. You don’t indicate when to add the grapefruit juice at all, and you have two additions of zest, but don’t specify how much to add at each time. Frustrating.
Oh my goodness, Jonathan. I corrected the typo in the recipe. The second addition of zest was for the juice. Sorry about that.
Perfect recipe. Grapefruit flavor and just the right touch of sweetness (not too much).
It’s great! Made it twice so far and was definitely better the second time. In my and my family’s opinion, there was too much sugar and too much zest, so the second time, I used the juice from 3 large grapefruits, 3/4 cup sugar, 1.5 tsp zest, and 2 cups of water! Definitely wasn’t as sweet!
I don’t have an ice cream maker. What can I use instead?
