In Nashville, on the edge of town in an unassuming old gas station you’ll find fuel in another form, java. And some of the best around. It’s called Crema.
Caffeine in the form of art.
People flock to this place not just for the quality Joe, but for the quaint atmosphere.
I was there with a group of blogging friends for only a short time. In that short visit we found Crema a place, if we were locals, we’d happily fit into our regular routine. It was fun to watch them at work. It’s like watching an artist perform.
The garage doors remain. Coffee bean bags have been re-purposed. Ingenious. And other local treats are available to accompany the coffee.
You’ll find a journal there for friends of Crema to share thoughts and dreams.
Such a personable place to park it for a while. I’ll definitely be heading back for a fill-up next time I’m in Nashville, TN. You should plan a visit to Crema the next time you’re in Nashville, TN.
Now, it’s your turn.
Where have you found the best cup of Joe? Have a favorite coffee house you frequent? Was there a spot you discovered while traveling that made it’s mark on your caffeine ?
Tell us about it. We’ll be making a “Go Savor the best coffee” list of all suggestions, so we can all refer back to it when needed.

That truly was a great day… and a great coffee shop with so much character and charm!
Oh my goodness… I just want to move to Nashville right now. I would LIVE at Crema. I actually don’t drink too much coffee any more, but I do love the smell… And, I am dying to learn how to make such pretty coffee art. Reading this post is making me wish we had more independent coffee shops around here… Mostly we just have Dunkin Donuts and Starbucks.
So, so cool! I wish I could go back in time and change my flight!
So neat! Cheryl just told me about the garage/coffee house. Makes me want to go to Nashville just to see it! Won’t drink the coffee, not a coffee drinker, but I’d enjoy the atmosphere.
Seeing your photo of that lovely coffee brings back memories of visiting my sister in Cairo a couple months ago. We sat under the palms, under a protective and comforting canopy, drinking the most beautiful and delicious mochas from Costa Coffee. The low wide cups were fun to hold and the coffee’s whip was beautifully designed into a Christmas tree, decorated with a sprinkling of cinnamon. A memory I will forever cherish with my sister.
We’ve been going to Nashville for years and I’ve missed this golden nugget! I’ve just got to get there soon to try it out!
I am embarrassed to admit that this post brought tears to my eyes, remembering how much fun we had that morning. I truly cherish our friendship, and those photos really took me back!!
Here’s to hoping we find ourselves there again in the not too distant future.
I want to go baaaaack!!!! Like Kristan said, it was one of the highlights of our trip!!
I planned to post about this place soon too!…….I want to open a coffee shop in a garage!
What a beautiful place!! I can almost smell the fresh grounds… 🙂
Oh that place looks fabulous!
Coffee is my life.
And Crema has obviously turned coffee into art.
And I love art.
I. must. get. there.
Such beautiful coffee art, I’m always so impressed at what can be done! I think one of the best places for coffee near me is Groundworks. I first discovered their coffee at a small local cafe, and when I asked where they got the beans and they told me about this place.
LOVE CREMA! What a great feature on my favorite coffee shop! The staff & coffee are both the best in Nashville. 🙂 My fiance & I like to go on Saturday morning to sip Cubans and share a slice of quice & a scone. They quiche they serve there is INCREDIBLE. It’s from Sweet 16th Bakery.
Crema does look like a great treat. Btw: the crema is always my favorite part of a great cup of espresso.
Thanks Go Savor for the nice review and great photos. See you soon!
Cheers,

What a fun place. I love quaint little coffee bars!
Batdorf and Bronson in Atlanta – you’ll find their coffee served around town, their Dancing Goats outpost in Decatur and their roasting warehouse in the west side. Gather a group of friends and meet there for tour and tasting. You won’t be disappointed.
