These Chocolate Dipped Marshmallows are so much easier to make than they look and they’re the perfect treat for school parties or other special occasions.
Lately I’ve been gravitating to no-fuss meals, desserts, and treats. Partly due to beginning a Master Gardening course at Clemson which requires more brain time, or more specifically, focused brain time. Also, there’s no replacing a good arsenal of great tasting, quick go-to recipes for those weeks with crazy schedules, last minute party plans, or what have you. The Party Popcorn is definitely one of those recipes, and now, these Chocolate Dipped Marshmallows have been added to that same list.
I’ve been seeing an array of marshmallow treats all over the place. Over the weekend at a candy shop chocolate dipped marshmallows, drizzled with caramel caught my eye. So fancy looking, so tempting, but oh so very, very simple. I made this batch yesterday in no time and couldn’t believe how cute they turned out. And I’m not experienced with dipping, or candy making and such. I promise.
Candy melts, marshmallows, and a few topping options were all that was needed. I snagged pre-portioned candy melts last month while dashing through the produce section, but any regular candy melts, or melted chocolate used for dipping will work. Just make sure you use a container size that will allow the melted chocolate/candy to be deep enough to dip the marshmallows.
The toppings are endless, but for this batch I used green sugar sprinkles, chopped pistachios, chopped Andes mints, and white chocolate for drizzling over the chocolate dipped marshmallows.
How to Make Chocolate Dipped Marshmallows
I didn’t manage to get any pictures of the process, but let me explain how I made them:
- Melt the chocolate/candy melts according to package direction.
- Using a skewer, dip each marshmallow in the chocolate and turn upright, then slide a fork under the marshmallow with the skewer fitting in between the fork tines, and gently pull the skewer out. Using the skewer carefully push the marshmallow from the bottom off of the fork onto wax paper surface.
- Before chocolate hardens, sprinkle with favorite toppings.
Make sense? Basically, melt chocolate, dip marshmallows, sprinkle with toppings. Easy peasy.
Hope you enjoy them as much as we did. They were not only tasty treats, but really fun to make too!
