This BBQ Sauce Recipe is a superlicious sauce for chicken or ribs. It’s totally finger licking good!
Please welcome Randy today as he shares about his favorite homemade BBQ Sauce Recipe. It’s a keeper, y’all.
My favorite homemade BBQ sauce recipe of all time came from my Mom, who got it from her friend, Carol, back in the day. It was written down on a note card. That piece of paper was covered with all kinds of smudges and stains until it was almost illegible. I’m not sure where it is now. I should have taken better care of it and made a lot of copies. If so, maybe now I could type in my computer and save it to the cloud. Or chisel it in stone, I suppose. I’ll keep looking.
In the meantime I mixed up something kinda like Carol’s as best I can remember. It’s pretty darn tasty, if I do say so myself.
BBQ Sauce is a recipe you can get creative with. Lot’s of home cooks have some delicious concoctions that beat the pants off of any store bought stuff. In my book, a good sauce is versatile. This sauce will work equally well with beef, chicken and pork, turning the ordinary into something special. It has a balance of heat, sweet, tangy and sour. This one hits all the right notes. And boy does it smell great on the grill. Don’t be surprised if the neighbors find an excuse to walk over.
Anyway, give this one a try. I think you’ll like it. But don’t be afraid to put your own special twist on it.

Hi Amy,
I love your recipes and your whole approach.. I tried pork strips in my slo cooker..Came out great. Then I brush the BBS on it & placed it under the broiler but it lost the gooey results that I wanted .
I want to dry rub a chicken leg quarter…Microwave the BBQ sauce & brush it onto the chicken . This way I think that it will be finger licken’ good . What do you think? Thank you
