Tassimo’s home brewing system offers you the ability to be the coolest barista on the block. With the Tassimo T20 Brewbot you can whip up seven different styles of coffeehouse drinks, like lattes, cappuccinos, cafe creme, espresso, hot chocolate (yum!), tea and of course, a regular cup of Joe. When I was contacted to receive a Brewbot and offer a giveaway for another one, of course I jumped at the chance.

As soon as it showed up at my door yesterday, I set it up and gave it a go by making a cappuccino. The first thing I noticed was the compact size. We’ve been through our share of bulky coffee makers, but this Brewbot is compact, easily fitting underneath the upper cabinet, even with the lid up. I like having my counters free and clear as much as possible, so that’s a big perk. Get it? Perk? Coffee? Coffee perks?

Oh never mind…

Anyway, the Brewbot uses little T DISCs, that are available in array of brands and flavors.

And, get this, the Brewbot reads a bar code on each T DISC that’s inserted and adjusts the brewing to whatever information is jammed in those little lines.

How cool is that?

The cappuccino, requires two kinds of T DISC, one for the steaming of the cream and another for the espresso. It’s easy peasy. After giving it a quick trial run last night, I was up for mixing things up a bit and trying the cappuccino with my regular addition to coffee, cocoa powder and sugar, for a tasty mocha.

I add about two tablespoons of dark cocoa powder, and one tablespoon of sugar. You can adjust to your liking, but that’s roughly what I do.

Now on to the brewing… First insert the cappuccino cream T DISC in the Brewbot and let it do it’s thing.

Oooh, steamy!

Next in goes the espresso T DISC. Looking good…

And there you have it. It’s like I’ve been to barista school without leaving my kitchen. Pretty good stuff y’all. I’m looking forward to trying other T DISCs over the next few weeks. I’ll be sure to let ya know how it goes.
