Last September I had one of my first giveaways here on She Wears Many Hats. It was for one of these hand drawn nests. Since I’m already thinking of spring and warmer weather, I thought about giving away some more. And while I’d like to be able to give everyone one of these (my eyes just couldn’t take it!) 2 winners will be chosen.
Each drawing is an original – different from the next – drawn by hand in pen and ink. The drawing itself is fairly small, about 2×3.” While they’re certainly no masterpiece, I’ve enjoyed drawing them for family and friends and would love to send one your way. The number of eggs can represent the number of chicks (children) you have in your nest. They make a great gift for any mother, grandmother or anyone who likes birds nests.
Two (2) randomly selected winners will be chosen. Each drawing will be customized to the number of eggs requested. The drawings will be matted but not framed. (Keep in mind that a nest can only hold so many eggs. The maximum I’ve drawn so far are 7 eggs in a nest.)
To enter tell me how many eggs you’d like in your nest if you win and answer this question…
First thing come spring, what will you do to freshen up your nest?
Will you be painting a room? Choosing new drapes or pillows? Or is spring cleaning enough to get you all fluffed and ready for a new season?
I’m already thinking of ways to spruce things up around here. (Don’t tell my hubby though.)
Deadline for entering will be Sunday, January 24, 2010 at Midnight PST. Winners will be announced on Monday, January 25 as soon as I get around to posting it – I’ll hurry as fast as I can. Promise.
~ Don’t forget to tell me how many eggs you’d like in your nest.
Have a great day!
3 eggs! We are thinking about doing an entire house remodel. I am scared but excited.
Whoo-hoo! Jennifer told me about her nest; sounds like it is so nice! Do we included birdies who have “left the nest”? I’m not sure if I would need 2 or 3! Well anyway; I prefer to spruce my yard in the spring; who wants to be in the house in the nice weather? Fresh mulch and few new plants, plus filling pots with an assortment of blooms to put on my front porch and by my mail box. I’ll worry about inside the house later!
Throw open the windows to the spring breezes. Then shut those dirty windows and wash them inside and out. I also want to clean out a room that has collected school/junk/stuff and make it a reading nook.
Thanks for having me type that out. I have my goals written down now.
You are so talented! I love the nest. I would have to have five eggs – one for each child, one for my son-in-love child and one for the new grandbaby that will be here before we know it.
Thanks!
Oh wow!, I get tired just thinking about it. So much to do so little time. We are presently making a screened in porch on our back patio. It is paint time for it so we will have to wait for warmer weather for that. Also I am going to replace the window coverings in my family room. Every drawer and closet needs a good throw away or donate. I will take one room at a time for that job. Also like Kim my yard will get some much needed attention. All of my three chicks have left the nest ,Boo Hoo, but I have one grandchick now,Yea!. So three eggs for me.
How lovely – the sketch is beautiful!
I have two eggs in my nest.
I like to rearrange some of the accessories in my house. Which is usually unintentional because I can’t remember how I had everything when I took it down for the holiday decorations.
Just had another thought as I hit the submit button. With 3 chicks that have left the nest and 1 grandchick, I guess the nest is reloading. Anyone else reloading?
My main project this spring is to re-do the deck. I’ve been planning for months. My nest takes 4 eggs! Thanks.
This is a cool giveaway!!
Let’s see… we will be painting our daughter’s room and hopefully having the kitchen cabinets refaced and then I’ll repaint that room also.
I have four chicks with me, but we have a daughter in Heaven, so I would want five eggs in my nest (if I win).
3 eggs.
For the spring I will be cleaning out items that will be donated to our local humane society’s annual rummage sale.
You drew that?! What can’t you do? 🙂 I love the simplicity of it.
This coming spring will be a major decluttering spree. And I’m thinking of travel, too, after the tax season, that is! Haha.
I’d love 3 eggs. My parents would love that.
Hey Joy!
Oh, there are lots of things I can’t do, I’ve just recently started paying more attention to the things I CAN do. You’re a talented one yourself!

I received one for Christmas from my dear friend. I love it and so does everyone that sees it. I am wanting a new patio in the back to help with the dirt that my three four legged children bring into my house. AAARGGGHHHH!!! If I win, I need two eggs in my nest to give to Joanie. She has told me that she will pay you for one. I will see if I win first. Congratulations on the new camera.

What lovely drawings! I would love 4 eggs in my nest. Two for my human children, and two for my feline children.
Come Spring, I will be spring cleaning, re-painting the Dining Room, and painting the finished basement.
The first thing that comes to mind is to open the windows for some fresh air! Then I will start the terrible task of painting the woodwork in the mudroom.
I forgot…I would like 4 eggs in that nest.
Wow! I’m loving that; love it not only because of the symbolism but because you are the artist! I want one. I would want six in my nest because I have 5 grandchildren with a new one on the way. Don’t think I had told you that :-). Martha
I love this drawing, but I think I would actually like to gift it to a friend, so it would have three eggs. She lost a baby, and I know it would mean a lot to her to have this representing all three of her children.
This spring we are hoping to convert our attached garage into a family room.
Well, excitingly enough, we are closing on our very first nest on February 19th! So I suppose the moving in and decorating will be on the agenda for spring prep. 🙂
We have two eggs in the nest so far and hopefully…a third egg on the way 😉
The drawings are really cool, thank you for sharing!
I have 2 eggs in my nest! What a nice drawing. We are finishing our basement and will have a bedroom and family room downstairs. Lots to decorate and it will be a fun work in progress. Thanks for this opportunity.
Hmmmm, can I have one egg for my future child. Not that I’m pregnant but I’d like to be 🙂
I’m already deep into purging and reorganzing the house. I have a book I’m following to get organized. I guess you could say I’m making space in my nest.
Im already getting ready for spring as well. Since my husband and I live in an apartment I’m sprucing up with homemade terrariums. It’s just an upside-down pickle jar (or some other kind of rather large jar) with moss and a few clovers in it, but it looks so fresh and springy! So for spring – i’ll just keep looking for more DIY design projects to make our place a little prettier on a budget.
I think the three eggs in the nest is very cute.
