Like many women, well, men too – okay – everyone, we all wear many hats. Whether a wife, mother, daughter, (sorry guys, just enter the male counterpart to the list) friend, employer, employee…whatever it may be that fills your days, we all wear many hats.
Over the past few years, I’ve spent much time agonizing over what hat I should wear. Where do I focus my energy? What is my purpose? Who or what am I meant to be?
A little of an identity crisis I suppose.
Then it hit me. I realized I was wasting time trying to find my specific place and not reveling in the many hats I already wear and interchange daily. Besides, how boring would that be – to only be able to wear one hat?
We’re diverse.
Complicated.
And we can’t be put in a box, or should I say, one hat.
So, I say, Embrace the Hat Head! Enjoy them all! Try a new one on for size. Who knows, one may end up fitting better than the rest in the end.

I wear many hats, too, but many don’t fit. That’s OK. I am who I am and I’m still working on who and what I am meant to be. No problem. I have a wonderful family, lots of friends, food on the table and a roof over my head. That’s all that matters! I’m healthy, happy and having fun!
I love it, Amy. Keep it going. Look forward to what’s next.
This is FABULOUS! I feel so at home on this website! Praisin’ God!!
I used to have a card that says “Joy of Many Trades”. Embrace diversity of roles.
There are so many hats to choose from I couldn’t pick just one if I wanted to.
Love the new logo!
I LOVE this idea/concept. Everything. It got me thinking as well. Hello??? Its a GOOD thing to be so diverse, right? You hit the nail on the head. And as an aspiring fashionista you can never have too many hats….or shoes for that matter
Amy, you are truly a Renaissance woman! You are so creative–you cook, garden, decorate, write, photograph, sing, and now you’ve got this website showcasing it all (well, you haven’t sang on here–yet–but I’ve heard you)…what DON’T you do well?? Seriously, if I didn’t like you so much I’d hate you, just on principle. No one person should hog all the talent like that.
First time to stop by….enjoying! I have a post in my draft about the different hats we wear….this is great. Looks like you live in Galveston…so plan a trip there this summer, it is one of our favorite places to go. Love the Dr. Pepper cake recipe, will be trying it, especially since I am a Dr Pepper fan and we just got back from the Dr P museum. You blog is beautiful!!! WOW!
Enjoyed,
Janette
Hey Janette!
Thanks for stopping by – nice to meet ya! I live in upstate SC, but I’m sure Galveston is a pretty hip place to be. A Dr. P museum?!? My daughter would love that!

Oh boy do I! And I know full well there are many out there who do the same. I really love the many different metaphorical hats but some days it is extremely draining and head-spinning. If I had only one hat to wear so to speak I would probably get into trouble for a lack of activity…but no fear of that ever happening. Very well put and I like the icon/logo.
